The links between The D'Oliveira Foundation and Saint Augustine Cricket Club, Basil's home club in South Africa, have been further strengthened with The Foundation presenting the club with a cheque for £500. Foundation representative Mark Ashbourne presented the monies to St. Augustine Vice-President Shawn Christiansen and Max Jordaan the Transformation and Membership Executive for Cricket South Africa at a ceremony on Thursday. The club will use the money to support their burgeoning Junior Section withVice- Chairman Dudley Williams saying "On behalf of St. Augustine Cricket Club, we would like to thank The D’ Oliveira Foundation for the kind donation.  This will help tremendously in furthering our work as a club, especially youth  cricket development in underprivileged communities. Mark said "Two of the aims of our orgaisation are to support grass roots cricket and foster better links with South Africa.  It has been a real honour and privilege to meet the people driving St. Augustine's, the club where Basil began his cricketing career and the club both Damian and Brett played for, forward and I know that our donation will be well spent."
